Introduction to cross-country skiing

This tour is conducted by Aurora Alps. Ever heard of a saying “Norwegians are born with skis on their feet”? In many cases this isn’t far from the truth, since cross-country skiing is Norway's national sport and something most Norwegians love to do.
Skiing is a combination between balance and technique. Once you reach our basecamp, we will teach you some basic skills: how to get started, how to put your skis on, how to fall and then get back on your skis. With these techniques under your belt, you will then trek through the beautiful alpine landscape together with the guide. Trust us - you do not need to have any previous experience - you will get it during the day along with the instructor.
Ski along existing trails or create your own. Cross-country skiing is a great way to exercise and you will feel a real sense of satisfaction once you overpower the track! This tour is appropriate for both beginners and intermediates.
In addition, at the basecamp we have 84 friendly Alaskan huskies that love to interact and meet new people. Each of them with their own name and personality. They love to cuddle, so don’t be afraid to give them a hug or two.
Included:
Transfer to and from Breivikeidet (50min each way)
English-speaking guide / instructor
Ski gear (poles, skis, boots)
Warm clothing (thermal suits, hats, gloves)
Hot drinks and cake
Chance to visit our Alaskans huskies used for dogsledding
Departure time: 8:15am (08:15)
Meeting time and place: 15 minutes before departure, outside Scandic Ishavshotel (08:00am)
